“God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.”

“Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are.”

Remember

Today was one of the most traumatic days of my life...well it could have been.
I confronted one of my worse fears & yet some how I managed not to cry or fall apart.
Maybe I can overcome anything.

Two paths & both will change my life forever.
Which do I chose?!

Kahlil Gibran

“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?”

“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.”

Here are the top nine comments made by NBC sports commentators so far during
the Summer Olympics that they would like to take back:

1. Weightlifting commentator:
"This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning
during her warm up and it was amazing."

2. Dressage commentator:
"This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I
once
mounted her mother."

3. Paul Hamm, Gymnast:
"I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father."

4. Boxing Analyst:
"Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of
them really that serious."

5. Softball announcer:
"If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing
again."

6. Basketball analyst:
"He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can
see it all over their faces."

7. At the rowing medal ceremony:
"Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox
of the British crew."

8. Soccer commentator:
"Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the
field."

9. Tennis commentator:
"One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final
round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them... Oh my God, what have
I just said?"

I am learning to recapture my happiness from little things,
to be content with small joys & the simple things from life.
I am tired of being sad!

"As I write, highly civilized human beings are flying overhead trying to kill me. They do not feel any enmity against me as an individual, nor I against them. They are only doing their duty, as the saying goes. Most of them, I have no doubt, are kind-hearted law-abiding men who would never dream of committing murder in private life. On the other hand, if one of them succeeds in blowing me to pieces with a well-placed bomb, he will never sleep any worse for it. He is serving his country, which has the power to absolve him from evil."--George Orwell, London (1941)

Memories fade, time takes away the traces of your face.
The feel of you is forgotten & the taste of your lips is replaced by a broken memory.
You linger constantly in my mind, but the image has begun to blur.
Stay!

Thursday Thanksgiving!

The pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like

to express Praise for answered prayers. A lady stood and walked to the podium. She said, 'I have a Praise'.

'Two months ago, my husband Jim had a terrible bicycle

wreck and his scrotum was crushed. The pain was excruciating and the doctors didn't know

if they could help him.'

You could hear an audible gasp from the men in the congregation as they imagined the pain that poor Jim experienced.

She continued, 'Jim was unable to hold me or the children and every move caused him terrible pain. We prayed as the doctors

performed a delicate operation. They were able to piece together the crushed remnants of Jim's scrotum and wrap wire around it to hold it in place.'

Again, the men in the Congregation squirmed uncomfortably as they imagined the horrible surgery performed on Jim.
She continued, 'Now, Jim is out of the hospital and the
doctor's say, with time, his scrotum should recover completely.'

All the men sighed with relief.

The pastor rose and tentatively asked if any one else had anything to say.

A man rose and walked slowly to the podium.

He said, 'I'm Jim and I want to tell my wife the word is sternum.'

I just miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way.
I miss you even more than I could have believed;
and I was prepared to miss you a good deal.
So this letter is really just a squeal of pain.
It is incredible how essential to me you have become.
I suppose you are accustomed to people saying these things. Damn you, spoilt creature;
I shan't make you love me any the more by giving myself away like this--
But oh my dear, I can't be cleaver and stand-offish with you:
I love you too much for that.
Too truly. You have broken down my defenses.
And I don't really resent it.

Shiny Bum!

I love Serbia! The people are wonderful, the men and women are gorgeous! Conversation is intelligent, lovely humor & they know how to give a compliment.

True expectations

http://someone-said.deviantart.com/art/longing-17189476
Jesus:
What are My true expectations?

I expect you to love Me.
I expect you to try‚ and not give up trying.
I expect you to remember that you're human and aren't ever going to be perfect ... and I expect you to be okay with that!
I expect you to spend time with Me.
I expect you to take time to smell the roses.
I expect you to sleep and rest.
I expect you to love your brothers and sisters.
I expect you to have faith in yourself, because I have faith in you.
I expect you to have hope, because there is so much that I can do for you if you trust in Me.
I expect you to trust Me to work things out in your life the way I know is best.

Don't mind the music video... I have no idea what the words even mean...but his voice!!!

Beauty?

D. H. Lawrence
Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness. What ails us is that our sense of beauty is so bruised and blunted, we miss all the best.

John Kenneth Galbraith
There is certainly no absolute standard of beauty. That precisely is what makes its pursuit so interesting.

Life...

I slept, and dreamed that life was Beauty,
I woke, and found that life was Duty.
Was thy dream then a shadowy lie?
Toil on, poor heart, unceasingly;
And thou shalt find thy dream to be
A truth and noonday light to thee.
Life a Duty
~Ellen Sturgis Hooper. 1816-1841.

To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather
than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy,
not respectable, and wealthy, not rich, to study hard, think
quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds,
to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully,
do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never, in a word to
let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up
through the common, this is to be my symphony.

War, Inc.

Did you know that the word "person" comes from the Latin word "persona", which means mask? So maybe being human means we invite spectators to ponder what lies behind. Each of us will be composed of a variety of masks, and if we can see behind the mask, we would get a burst of clarity. And if that flame was bright enough, that's when we fall in love. What's your opinion on these divine matters?

How do I explain these feelings?

The longing, desire...

It's the way he looked at me, touched me, it's his smile, his hands. He is slender, but muscular, tall, blue blue eyes, lips made for kissing.

He is beautiful.

He is my idea of perfection.

And he is not mine...I shall never see him again.

He walked in and out...

Here for so short, yet he took part of me with him.
I miss him!

It will fade...it always does.
