What is beauty anyways?

"Do you love me because I'm beautiful, or am I beautiful because you love me?"

"True friends are the people who brighten your smile everytime your with them."

"You'll always be my best friend, you know too much!"

"We've shared many smiles and many tears, but nothing beats the laughter."

"A woman can become a man's friend only in the following stages - first an acquaintance, next a mistress, and only then a friend.".....ha ha ha....ok ok! YOU can stop shooting now!

"The most beautiful discovery that true friends can make is that they can grow separately without growing apart."

"Friendship without self interest is one of the rare and beautiful things in life."

"Remember that every good friend was once a stranger."

The Joy of Photo Taking!

“Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.”

http://linlith.deviantart.com/art/smile-50767490

Smile at me!

I promise to smile back.

Laugh with me.
I love to laugh!
Whatever your mood
Whatever you feel
Let's do it together
It will add to the cheer!

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Weekend fun!

I was playing cards with my parents the other day. It's sort of a weekend tradition with them & my younger sister. She was being a little cocky, so I pounced on her, very gently of course. Next thing I know we are both on the floor; me on my head. Mom had decided to tickle my foot, big mistake, me so very ticklish on my feet. So yea, I some how managed to be one minute on the bed, next off. I was laughing so hard I felt no pain.
:)

Sometimes you just can't win!

I love poker, problem is I don't play to well. It has to do with my nature of "playing it safe." Yes, I don't jump off into the deep end, well rarely. So if I am bidding high, I probably have a winning hand. I should learn to jump!

Is it a dream?

"It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe in it."

It is sad how many people who have never been to America actually think America is like the Hollywood movies. I find great pleasure in telling them "It just ain't so!"

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

I have unfriendly curls!

I was sitting chatting with my nephew who is at the stage where he is into brushing hair. He will brush his hair for half an hour. So he starts brushing my hair, but it was up all day & when I have it up it gets curly. So he is having a little trouble brushing it out and says " Your curls are unfriendly." Then proceeds to say " Your hair is unhappy & mad, but when I brush it; it becomes friendly."
It's so cute to see little minds at work!

My brother & his son!

I love my family!

I found a post that I had done at the beginning of this blog, which I can say was a very rough time in my life. I didn't even remember it, but saw it today & then noticed a comment someone gave on it, someone who at the time didn't know me. It once again confirms to me the love that Jesus gives us in our wonderful Family. Thanks all of you who have been there for be throughout the years. I couldn't make it without you!!! Here is the comment:
I am praying for you. Just remember though that we are not mortal even though we are human. We are going to live forever and this life is just a short phase of time in the whole picture of things. It's this mortal part of life that will make us better immortals. It's like a reality show TV game, the contestants go for a short time to play the game then go home. Life is the reality TV show played by the contestants for short time...then we go home. And you are a winner.

Brother Andrew

My younger brother was reading the book "God's Smuggler" for bedtime story with my Mom, so he had a question about his book & wrote him. We got a letter today from Brother Andrew to Bryan all the way from Holland. So sweet, personal letter to him. I think that man is a great example of a true missionary. GBH!
P.S. If you haven't read this book you should...along with the Book Summary on the family website.

Embracing the wind.......

“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and melt into the sun. And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered. Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then you shall truly dance.”

My Love

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
(II Corinthians 1:4)

"Love means to commit oneself without guarantee, to give oneself completely in the hope that our love will produce love in the loved person. Love is an act of faith, and whoever is of little faith is also of little love."

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not easy to understand with the mind—it is a supernatural gift of the spirit. It's one of the natural laws of the spirit that when we forgive others, our own lives and spirits are healed and made whole. As hard as it is to fully comprehend it, past differences, hurts and grievances can all be healed through forgiveness, love, and the oil of the Spirit. The Lord is able and willing to help you to forgive others. And if you truly forgive someone, that means you let go of whatever it is you're harboring in your heart against them. Without forgiveness, the healing process cannot be complete.

"The only way to heal the pain that will not heal itself is to forgive the person who hurt you. Forgiving heals your memory as you change your memory's vision."—Lewis Smedes

Sailing Away.............someday

My New Year's Prayer!

To Jesus:
Whatever You have in store for me today or tomorrow or next year, I pray I'll always say yes to You. I never want to stray from the closeness we have now. I never want to feel distant from You.

So as You gently lead me by the hand, walking me through Your celestial palace, showing me new rooms and things that I've never seen, I will try to hold tight to Your hand. I will try to take pleasure in the new gifts that You show me in each room, even if I don't understand how they work, or if they look strange to me.

Jesus, You're so generous, pouring gifts on me. I know that You will never give me anything that will harm me or that will bring hopeless despair into my life. Even if it costs a little to accept different gifts from You, I want to pay whatever price is necessary, because I want to have what You want to give me.

I don't want to say no to any of Your gifts, but I want to explore each one with You. I want to delight in each one, to learn to love and cherish each gift. In so doing, I'll learn to know You more deeply as I come to understand Your heart. Because what I really want most of all--more than Your blessings, more than Your gifts, even more than the peace that I feel when I am close to You--is You.

From Jesus:
You are Mine and you cannot be lost to My love. You can never be despised by Me. You never slip out of My presence for a moment. You are never abandoned for a split second. There's never a moment that I am not continually aware of you. There is never a fraction of a second that I am not caring for you. There is never a thought in My heart that is unloving toward you. You are Mine forever, My child whom I love and for whom I would give My life endless times.

Just pass me by....

"If you ever see me cry, just pass me by, I'll get over it soon. If you ever tell a lie just pass me by, I won't be forgiving you till next years June."

Waiting...

I am still waiting;
waiting I know not for

I am still breathing;
breathing in hope

I am still trying;
trying to be what I am suppose to be

I am still crying;
I wish I wasn't

I am still broken;
broken but under repair

I am still here;
though I wish I could disappear

M.C.

Sad thoughts....

I close my eyes
your in my head
I shut the door of my heart
yet you walk on through

I pretend that I don't care
but care for you I always will.

I wish I could forget
I wish I didn't love you

Yet I always will!

Swans

I went for a walk today; had so much fun. I slide down the hills of snow with my eight year old brother & fought to get up the hills first. A perfect day & then we saw a flock of swans on the sea. So beautiful, I love swans!!!

Love Will Wane

When your love begins to wane,
Spare me from the cruel pain
Of all speech that tells me so--
Spare me words, for I shall know,

By the half-averted eyes,
By the breast that no more sighs,
By the rapture I shall miss
From you strangely-altered kiss;

By the arms that still enfold
But have lost their clinging hold,
And, too willing, let me go,
I shall know, love, I shall know.

Bitter will the knowledge be,
Bitterer than death to me.
Yet, 'twill come to me some day,
For it is the sad world's way.

Make no vows--vows cannot bind
Changing hearts or wayward mind.
Men grow weary of a bliss
Passionate and fond as this.

Love will wane. But I shall know,
If you do not tell me so.
Know it, tho' you smile and say
That you love me more each day.

Know it by the inner sight
That forever sees aright.
Words could but increase my woe,
And without them, I shall know.

Let Me Lean Hard

Let me lean hard upon the Eternal Breast.
In all earths devious ways I sought for rest
And Found it not.

I will be strong, said I
And lean upon myself! I will not cry
And importune all Heaven with my complaint
But now my strength fails, and I fall, I faint.
Let me lean hard.

Let me lean hard upon the unfailing Arm.
I said I will walk on. I fear no harm
The spark divine within my soul will show
The upward pathway where my feet should go.
But now the heights to which I must aspire
Are lost in clouds. I stumble, I tire.
Let me lean hard.

Let me lean harder yet. That swerveless Force
That speeds the solar systems on their course
Can take, unfelt, the burden of my woe
Which bears me to the dust, and hurts me so.
I thought my strength enough for any fate,
But lo! I sink beneath my sorrows weight.
Let me lean harder yet.

Let me lean hard, with that abandonment
Of self to God that means complete content.
I said, I do not fear the host of sin ;
I will be true to the divine within.
But lo! I find I am not great enough
To make my way oer places that are rough,
And through strange valleys, dark with shades of doubt,
Unless help comes from some high source without.
Let me lean hard.
